Hello, my name is Elvis Ablimit and I am writing this from Kashgar
on the
Ancient Silk Road in the Xinjiang Province of China. I specialize in
acquiring and selling antique carpets from this area by traveling
around the
countryside, sometimes by camel, and purchasing them from local
villagers.
I only accept carpets of the highest quality and with the trademark
characteristics unique to this region. I specialize in Kashgar,
Yarkand,
Khotan and also Kyrgyz designs but can also secure gilems from Tajik
families around Muztagh Ata which is known as Father of the Ice
Mountain. I
offer them at a very inexpensive price for my purchase price is equally
low.
I would like to export these rugs to the United States and sell them
through local distributors and dealers in that country. I am aware of
such
internet auctions as Ebay and Yahoo but unfortunately the Bank of China
makes it very difficult to obtain Visa, Mastercard or Paypal necessary
for
inclusion in these services. As my business grows and with the recent
entry
of China into the W.T.O. I have the greatest hope that I will soon be
able
to take advantage of these payment options which would make my
exporting
much easier and secure.
As for now however, I continue to run up against a brick wall and
this is
why I write this letter to you. Through the internet auctions I have
found
your Email address and have seen the many fine recommendations of your
buyers. This tells me that your business is very reputable and one of
outstanding reputation.
I would simply like to request any information or advice you may have
to
help me sell my carpets to dealers in your country. For example, are
there
any agents, boards or services that can help me get in touch with these
distributors? Perhaps there is a web site that outlines the business
of
selling carpets that I am unaware of. Any information you have would
be of
the greatest of help.
