I am glad that you purchased a beautiful TABRIZ rug. I do believe you bought a “SOUF” rug.

What is “SOUF”?

“SOUF” is a type of weaving technique in Persian rugs where the whole field is flat-woven and only the designs themselves are executed with pile. The pile has been clipped in some areas to produce an embossed effect.

TABRIZ’s “SOUF” design is very valuable and beautiful. I am sure your rug has high KPSI due to the fact that you do have silk in your rug.
I am not sure what “Bazarsta” means?
Probably is the name of the master weaver of your rug. Check the top or bottom of your rug and see if you can see the master weaver signature in FARSI (Official Language in IRAN). If you see something just send me a picture so I can translate for you.
I appreciate if you will be able to send me a big picture of your rug so with your permission I can add it to the site.
Yoshiko, do you know the KPSI of your rug?
Please feel free to contact me if you still have more question or suggestion.

Thank you
Afshin Nejad
